  1. My best study practice is my note taking. Note taking is very important because I am most likely to summarize and remember what I write down rather than taking the same notes that everyone else in the class takes. Personally I like to have different colors for different things. For example, if I were to study for a English exam, I would use red for a vocabulary term and yellow for the definition. Not only does this help my brain remember the things I need for the test but, it also helps me keep my notes very organized.

  2. Some of my best study practices are when I either work with a partner or do study groups. Throughout high school especiallly junior and senior year my bestfriend and I would FaceTime each other the night before a test and read each others notes to each other and then whatever one of us did not have written down we would add it to the margins of our notebooks. Then on the day of the test quiz each other to see what we remember from the previous night. Also, using quizlet which has the flashcards that helped me get through chemistry. -Chelsea Lambkin

  3. Some of my best study practices include using flash cards, highlighting important information in my notes, doing many practice problems, and watching youtube videos. I use flashcards on quizlet or I write them out. This allows me to remember important terms and content I will need to know for class. Another way I study is by going through my notes and highlighting the important information that I will need to know for the class and for a test. Depending on the subject I will also do many practice problems so I familiarize myself with the content so I know what I’m doing in class. Lastly, I always watch Youtube videos that help explain the topic so I understand it better. -Gina Healy

  4. I think one of my best study skills is in my reading and visual skills. By reading the material, I can look over again and again, until I have it memorized. But it would also mean that it would not be easy for me to understand it right away, so it may take multiple reviews. As I said earlier, when a test is about to come up soon, I review all the material I went over, then do a little more studying before bed, do a little more in the morning before the test begins.

  5. My best study practice is taking good notes that are easy to understand when I go back to them later. I try to look over them at different points before the test so I get to the point where I can basically quiz myself on the information and its easy to remember. Another one of my study practices, that works for me, is listening to music when I am studying. It helps me concentrate better and focus more on what I am doing. My last study practice is if I do not understand something, I look it up on Youtube and usually I understand what I am supposed to know after a video or two.

  6. My best study practice is drawing diagrams and highlighting as well as taking good notes. Many times the notes that are put up are too long and full of useless information. Writing them down yourself in a more efficient manner helps rule out useless information. Highlighting is also important because you can show important notes and words you can remember. Lastly, drawing diagrams is often very important when understanding certain concepts that involve a process to understand. It's very helpful when your use arrows and titles. -Vanessa Wallberg

  7. My best study habits are note taking skills. When I go back to study they're legible and help when I go to study them. I also make flash cards that help out very much when I’m trying to memorize things such as vocab, formula, etc. I also read notes and repeat what I read out loud or a summarized version so it would be easier to learn. I also like to watch videos that explain how to do something like on youtube or khan academy. Those videos help me out a lot.

  8. My best ways to study are highlighting and rewriting the notes about 3 times because it helps me understand and memorizing it better, Highlighting is one of the best things because It is what helps you remember the key points or important to what is going to be on the test or exam. It is easier to learn what you are try to study out loud several times as well. I also use flash cards because it is better to write things separate than all in one page or paragraph because it is easier to read and not get lost too. Juleinne Florentino

  9. One natural gift I had was being outgoing. I am usually an extremely shy person and I feel like that it can definitely hold me back in some parts of life. If I was more outgoing it would be easier to achieve what I want in life faster because of the connections I would be able to make.

  10. My best study practice is rewriting my notes and using index cards. I have found that rewriting the material a few times helps me remember it more than just reading it over. Throughout high school, I found that using index cards to remember vocabulary was the best method to ace a test. Also, color coordinating my notes and highlighting also has helped me remember the material. For example, using blue pen for math, a pink pen for science, or even an orange pen for English notes has helped my study habits. However, one study habit I need to work on is to stop cramming the material a few days before the exam. I need to start studying a little each week to better prepare for the exam. I plan on fixing that this year.

  11. One natural gift I wished I possessed is public speaking. I have been in many situations where I am the main focus from a large group of people due to me being an athlete. I play basketball and I have played in front of thousand in arenas like SJU, Hofstra, and Barclays Arena. Playing in these environments felt natural but giving a speech in front of a large group of people gives me anxiety. I have never understood this either because I am a very social person. I plan on taking a public speech class at Kean to help me with this problem.

  12. One natural gift that I wish I had is the ability of being outgoing. I tend to like small settings with peaceful situations. I am an independent worker; I like do things by myself and on my own time. If I was outgoing, it would be easier for me to participate in clubs and activities. It would give me more opportunities and I would be able to develop friendships with more people.

  13. A natural gift I do not possess but wish I did is great time management skills. I'm a huge procrastinator so I tend to leave everything I do for last time. Which evidently causes me to stress about things I could've done with time. The lack of time management skills also forces me to do everything in a rush with little time to review over simple mistakes that could've been avoided.

  14. The best way I have ever been able to study is by rereading my notes while also working on sample problems for the exam. This way, I was reviewing and really cementing the concepts that I fully understood while also using them to help me understand the more rocky parts. Watching Youtube videos about the topics also helped me understand because since the biggest thing for youtubers is views, they know that if their explanation of it isn't easy to understand and backed up by good examples, it will be less likely to come up on the top of your search.

  15. A natural gift that I wish I could possess is time management. This is a skill that is extremely useful during my time in school, as well as in life. I often lose track of time during the day by preoccupying myself with less important tasks, such as browsing social media or watching television. This leaves less time for doing homework and studying for my classes, which should be prioritized and will truly benefit me in the future. Time management would allow me to spend enough time on school and schoolwork, but also give me a portion of the day where I could engage in a sport, spend time with friends, and relax without the stress of uncompleted assignments. - Diana Nguyen

  16. My best study habits come from visual repetition such as flashcards for vocabulary. If I make myself a set of flashcards, I can have them memorized fairly quickly for a quiz or test. Another strong study habit of mine is working out problems visually on paper or in a power point. I find that if I organize the information in my own method it better helps me to understand it. I like to be able to put the information in a format that I can best understand. If I find certain information hard to comprehend, then I will do research or ask around to see if anyone can help me.

  17. I think i am a combination of all four types(VARK); How i begin is by listening, then visualize what i have heard and picture it in a way that can understand it. Alone or studying with friends i write out what i have read, try to rewrite it in my own way. I do this several times till i can see what i wrote without looking at the book - visualizing whatever study material i am using. This is how i am Kinesthetic.Making gestures - writing in the air, talk to myself. That is how i study.
